2009 Race Letter
My name is Blair Shoemaker, and I am a Modified Race Car Driver. I live in Yakima, Washington and am currently looking for sponsors for my racecar. I travel to Washington State Speedways as well as out of state raceways; entailing that your sponsorship placed on my car would be seen by race fans all over the northwest including Idaho, Montana, North Dakota among others states.
I have a true passion for racing; it is my favorite past time. I am very dedicated to racing, and value the time and energy that I put into my car. To race means to do the one thing I love in life.
If you decide to sponsor me, depending on the value of your donation, you would get your company’s name placed on the hood, deck, sail panel or doors of my racecar. With your company name on my racecar it would be a perfect advertisement for your company because race fans and drivers all over the Washington state as well as neighboring states would see your advertising on my car.
I am a five time champion, winning at two Washington tracks Grays Harbor Raceway, and Yakima Clay Raceway. These opportunities have permitted me and my car to be placed in front of the crowd multiple times, allowing stadiums packed with fans to view my car with sponsor logos. Sponsors are also announced as cars roll onto the track, and again if they have won, or finished in the top three. This gives your company multiple opportunities to be advertised. With a constantly updated team website that fans regularly check fans also have multiple opportunities to see your advertisements whenever they visit the website.
To keep up with my very competitive competition and to stay ahead of the pack, there are many provisions that need to be purchased. Parts, hardware and/or cash are just a few necessities that keep my race car running. Truly anything that your company would be willing to sponsor my car with would be greatly appreciated, and rewarded with business.
I will be calling you in the next several days to answer any questions you might have, and to inquire about our future business partnership.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to speaking with you.
“Isn’t fun the best thing to have?”
Sincerely,
Blair Shoemaker

SHOE CREW RACING 2008 CHAMPION

The videos of the main event and trophy dash have been added. It wasn't the prettiest finish to the season but the points speak for themselves! We finished the season with 4 point race wins, and the Northwest Modified Champion.
Thank you to all the fans, family, friends and team! Everyone who has shown support has been so amazing, and I couldn't do this without you!
Although the DirtWorks is for sale - we're already looking forward to next season and what the future has in store for ShoeCrewRacing.
Remember to keep checking the website - we have some exciting SCR demoderbys coming up that are sure to entertain you. Until then, we're outa here!
Medford Nationals 2008 8.30-8.31.08
The Medford trip was fun, but in terms of racing was rather troublesome. With having to fix up the car on Wednesday after practice, and then with the greasy track Saturday unable to continue with forward momentum, and then Sunday only finishing 3 laps before an accident that took me out for the rest of the night - as stated before, it was troublesome.
The trip was awesome, and I'd like to thank both Lawrence O'Conner and Bowman Motorsports for giving me the opportunity to race, and helping me through the weekend; and of course i have to thank ShoeCrewRacing for not only helping me in Medford, but helping me throughout the whole 2008 year.

Recap of the Modified Nationals at GHR 8.1&2.2008
The last race of Friday night is the Race of Champions which I was lucky enough to be in! I started 4th. I ran the whole race in 4th, and on the last lap I broke a tie rod - which attaches the steering to my wheel and finished 7th.
Saturday morning started early with a trip to the parts store - to fix the broken tie rod and get the car set up for the main event. Most of the day was spent working on the car with the crew and having a good time hanging out.
At the beginning of the night all the modified drivers drove out onto the track. We had a pill-draw to figure out the top ten starting positions for the main event. I was standing 7th in line next to most of the big name drivers in the modified division from all over the west coast. I drew a number 2! starting next to Brian Poppa in the 0p car outside row 1.
The main event is best not to be described in words, but watched on the race videos posted.
After the race was/is an indescribable feeling of hard work paying off and achieving an accomplishment that I never thought I would get.
I want to thank everyone for the hard work they did, the fans that came to the races or just to the website and everyone that wished me luck. It was a dream come true.
Again thank you to all of Shoe Crew Racing for help me live out my dream.

GHR June 28, 2008
As for me, I was still getting comfortable in the Gruff. In the heat race we started in 8th and finished in 2nd.
The trophy dash became a test and tune session allowing me some extra track time to make the appropriate Chassis adjustments for the main event.
The main event started with the s11 car in the 8th position in a field of 20. The track was "black-slick" (meaning it appears much like pavement, and has very little grip) this black-slick track set up the race to be single file, with little passing due to the restricted race grove. We were able to pass two cars, and finished 6th in the pack.
Make sure to check out the race video link for the feature event - they will be uploaded within the next 24 hours - Hopefully. :)
Cottage Grove Race June 14th
The night started off good - getting to test out the new ride, hot laps session made me feel quite comfortable with the change in cars, however when we came into the pits the crew discovered we had two dead cylinders. While fixing that we also had to fix jets and spark plugs - and during that time we missed our time trial slot, which automatically put us in the back of the pack - last.
Starting 11th in the heat race and needed to win it in order to qualify for the A Main. We finished 4th.
Starting 11th in the B Main gave us high hopes because we needed to finish 6th or better to make it into the A main. Unfortunately while continuing to work on the race car engine problems we were unable to make chassis adjustments that were needed due to the change in the race track.
While racing in the B main we ended up taking the checkered flag in the 8th position, just outside the transfer slots ending our night at Cottage Grove.
Grays Harbor Race on May 28th
We had a spectacular night which included a thrilling race with Scott Miller, with Shoe Crew finishing 1st in the trophy dash; and in the main event, I had the opportunity to start outside pole next to Josh Muller - and we got out in font in lap 1 - and never looked back. With 10 laps to go, Shawn Dorie and I had a good battle for the lead, when Dorie attempted to pass on the inside it resulted in him spinning out. Leaving me alone to pass the checkered flag in 1st place.

Slacking, and Sending Thanks
We hope to have some of last weekend's pictures posted before the weekend, and of course we'll be posting again come Sunday after Saturdays races.
I just wanted to say thank you to all of my family, friends, and fans who not only check the website, but come out to the race and support me; either by wearing a superman shirt, cheering when I drive by, working on my pit crew, or just coming into the pits after the races to say hello, and check out the car.
Without all of you, racing wouldn't be as much fun.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, WA.
Make sure to root for the s11 Superman car! And come on down to the pits afterwards to check out the car up close, and (hopefully - if they arrive on time) get a signed picture!

Video Uploads

The main event, due to all the cautions is in 6 takes, and should be uploaded by tomorrow, and added to the website by tomorrow night.
Check back tomorrow for the main event!
The season opener was on Saturday, and Emily is working on uploading all the videos. It's taking a while because of their size and ALL of the Cautions, but we promise they’re coming.
Here are some pictures from the night. I was lucky enough to have all my family pit-crew there, and I’m extremely thankful for them, their support, and all they did and do for me.
Coming out of hot-laps, we had a header gasket situation and the crew pulled together and buckled down, got us fixed, and we were able to make it out for the heat race.
In the heat I finished second, I had a good race with Lawhead, and it was a great race to start off the season with.
The trophy dash brought a first for me; coming to taking the white flag the track went black. The lights had lost power, and the entire track and stands were pitch black, as I’m driving into turn one, still on the gas, and unable to see Lawhead in front of me. On the back stretch the safety trucks flipped on their lights, which ultimately kept us from pilling into one another. After some time passed, the trophy dash(s) were scratched due to the lengthy time it took to get the lights/power back on.
The main event I rolled out in 5th position, with a lot of big hitters in front. We went green, and it was quickly followed by multiple cautions. In third, the race continued, and we all continued to battle for the win. In the end we obtained the lead, and were battling with Scott Miller to maintain the position. After several more cautions the race had been shortened, and eventually the checked flag flew on a yellow flag. Ending with ShoeCrewRacing on lap 19 in the winner’s circle.
We hope to see you all come out for this coming weekend’s race. May 3rd at
Check out a few pictures taken below of the pits, and racing, and keep checking for the videos to be posted!
